Because Advocates work hard to understand their causes, they are knowledgeable about matters that many people intentionally ignore. This can make them opinionated and judgmental to the point of belligerence. But it can also make them myopic and unable to concede that not everything they believe is right.
So many political revolutions, ideologies and leaders elected or put in place by coups to work for the greater good have been disappointments.
For the Advocate, this kind of ideological failing is next to impossible to accept because it dismantles a much loved belief system that is as core to the advocate as life itself.
